Welcome to The Unquiet Rising. Let me offer you some background into why I've decided to start this blog. The last five years or so have been incredibly enriching. I have developed some wonderful friendships with strong, beautiful, hard working and funny women. All of these women are different ages. They have different backgrounds. They have had different upbringings and belong to a variety of generations. Some have kids. Some don't. Some are married. Some are not. But whilst getting to know them, I have realised we have something in common and that's a negative experience with a man. The experiences themselves range from coercive control, plain neglect, financial abuse and sexual abuse. The shock is that every single woman I have spoken to has had something to say, and that has affected their life, their financial situation, their physical and mental health as well as their relationships with other men or women.
